There are moments when I can feel it in my body before I can name it with words.
A tightness in my chest.A heaviness in my shoulders. That quiet sense of carrying too much, for too long.
If you’re here, I imagine you know that feeling too.
Lately, I’ve been returning to small, intentional rituals that help me soften.
Not fix.
Not push through.
Just release a little of what I’ve been holding.
And today, I want to invite you into that space with me. Join me in letting go.
Not as something you have to do.But as something you’re allowed to receive.
A Soft Place to Land
When life feels loud or heavy, I don’t reach for anything complicated.
I reach for comfort.
Warmth. Familiar things that gently signal to my nervous system: You’re safe here.
That might look like wrapping myself in a weighted lap blanket, letting the pressure ground me back into my body.
Or lighting a softly scented soy candle that fills the room without overwhelming my senses.
Sometimes it’s as simple as holding a warm mug in both hands.
A favorite tea kettle, humming quietly on the stove.
A pause before the next thing.
These are not indulgences to me.
They are anchors.
Creating a Small Ritual of Release
When I sit down to journal or meditate, I like to create an environment that feels supportive, not demanding.
A soft glow from a candle-warming lamp.
A calming scent from an essential oil roller, brushed gently along my wrists.
A cozy throw blanket pulled up around my shoulders.
And then, I breathe.
Not deeply.
Not perfectly.
Just enough to notice myself again.
This is often when I reach for an affirmation or reflection journal.
Not to solve anything.
Just to let what’s inside me spill out onto the page so it doesn’t have to live in my body anymore.
Sometimes the release comes through words.
Sometimes through tears.
Sometimes through stillness.
All of it counts.
Join Me in Letting Go with a One-Minute Pause to Release Meditation
If you’re open to it, pause here with me.
You don’t need to change anything about your breath.
Just notice it.
Feel where your body is supported right now.
The chair.
The floor.
The weight beneath you.
If it feels safe, place one hand on your chest and another on your belly.
On your next exhale, imagine releasing just one thing you’ve been holding.
Not everything.
Just one.
You don’t have to name it.
You don’t have to understand it.
With every exhale, let it soften.
Let it loosen its grip.
Even a little is enough.
When you’re ready, gently come back.
Feel your tension lighten.
Nothing to fix.
Nothing to finish.
You’re already doing this right.
When You Don’t Know Where to Begin
There are days when even gentle practices feel hard. When I know I need to let something go, but I don’t know how.
If that small pause brought even a hint of relief, I created something to help you return to this space whenever you need it.:
Release What You’re Holding: A Gentle Guide to Letting Go (Free in my shop right now)
This guide isn’t about forcing release or rushing healing. It’s about meeting yourself where you are, noticing what your body and heart are carrying, and offering permission to soften.
Inside, you’ll find simple prompts and calming practices you can return to anytime you feel overwhelmed, emotionally full, or quietly exhausted.
You don’t have to do it all at once.
You don’t have to get it “right.”
You just have to begin where you are.
A Gentle Invitation
If you’d like, join me tonight.
Light a candle.
Wrap yourself in something warm.
Pour a cup of tea or coffee.
Open a journal or my free guide.
Let this be a moment where nothing is required of you except presence.
You are not behind.
You are not broken.
You are simply human, carrying a lot.
And you deserve moments that help you release the weight slowly, kindly, in your own time.
